Japanese Teriyaki Salmon

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

Make the Teriyaki Sauce:

In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Marinate the Salmon:

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over them. Marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

Cook the Salmon:

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the salmon from the marinade and cook in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.

Add the Sauce:

Pour the remaining teriyaki sauce into the skillet and let it simmer for a couple of minutes until it thickens slightly.

Serve:

Serve the salmon fillets with the thickened sauce drizzled over them. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
