Ingredients:
- For the Meatballs:
- 500 grams ground beef
- 250 grams ground pork
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
- For the Lingonberry Sauce:
- 1/2 cup lingonberry jam
- 1/4 cup water
- For the Gravy:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Make the Meatballs:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and allspice.
- Mix well and form into small meatballs.
- In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat.
- Fry the meatballs until browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Gravy:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and whisk in the flour.
- Cook for a minute, then slowly add the beef broth while whisking.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- Make the Lingonberry Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, combine the lingonberry jam and water.
- Heat over low heat until warmed through.
- Serve:
- Serve the meatballs with gravy and lingonberry sauce on the side.
